b-one FUNZIES!

Here's a little new strip that I've come up with called b-one FUNZIES the original intent behind this strip was to publish it through the King Bone Press website as a way to provide bonus content. Well... that was originally intended for summer of 2013. I was tied up drawing chickens and musicians and who knows what else. (lots of behind the scenes stuff at KBP). So I've gotten a little behind on that schedule and I figured since I drew this last June (!) and that  should color it and post here for the time being.

b-one FUNZIES will be a way to keep b-one, Boozehounds, and the many other KBP characters in the spotlight while I attempt some more...challenging stories and storytelling techniques in the oft delayed b-one comic.

So in closing look for at least one more b-one FUNZIES soon. That one is already drawn as well. Once I've collected a few more finished strips we will post them on the KBP website as originally planned.

I retired Boozehounds after the 100th strip, but I can't seem to let go of these rascals. They'll continue to appear periodically, but unfortunately not on any set schedule. Enjoy.

Wait...Bar Flies?

Remember when I posted the first Boozehounds strip I had mentioned that I had the idea for this comic strip for about fifteen years? No? Well enjoy this quote from the first posting.

"The last thing that the world needs is another web comic, am I right? Well I’ve done a few different ones over the years and this is a stupid idea that I had about 15 years ago and I finally got off my ass and drew up this little…thing. "

I have several of these little thumbnails somewhere in my house, I came across this little treasure while cleaning out a box in my closet. Note the date as May 2001, and while the format changed slightly the setting and panel structure have not.

The Boozehounds/Bar Flies concept and style always shows up in my doodles and in odd places. I will post the worthy ones as I unearth them. Look forward to that and please enjoy this one, even though it is pretty terrible.

Wow, this strip is getting grim isn't it?

Sometimes running out of bristol board isn't a bad thing, it let me experiment with this strip. I've always loved the black and white with red motif, but I really like how it works on this compressed cardboard.

If it wasn't apparent already, I have reached my (adjusted) goal of 100 strips and I will continue to do these as often as possible. I will post sporadically but by doing this strip I have kind of let my personal projects slip a bit and I'm DYING to get back to the Stonebrook gang.

It was bound to happen sooner or later. My first ever homage to Adventure Comics #247. The first appearance of the Legion of Super-Heroes who travelled back in time one thousand years just to bust Superboy's balls. Great bunch of kids right?
