Ape not kill ape. Ah, Koba you magnificent bonobo. I have mixed feelings about this piece. I had a great time drawing it but I think that the mashup of Koba and Carmen Miranda of the Copacabana is a little too subtle. I didn't want it to be over the top, but it seems that there's something missing. Probably citrus fruit.
I'm getting more comfortable coloring and employed a few new techniques (for me) on this piece.
There was also this little mistake when I accidentally opened up a lower layer when coloring. you can see a little bit of the process here with the flat colors. I liked they way it looked so I saved a copy to post here.
