Boozehounds 04/23/2012
Remember these guys? I missed them too.
This one is for Wheels.
Also some new people have inquired about contributing, here's the very simple rules.
So ya wanna be a Boozehound,
eh?
It's been a few months and we've had a few new contributors. I thought it was time to go over the submission rules & guidelines one more time. (quoted below).
What I was negligent to post is the working size of my artwork and the final web size of the published work. I work on a 10.5"x4" art area. Scanned at 300dpi. Colored and lettered at that size and saved as a 72dpi 800 pixel by 326 pixel file.
From the Boozehounds Premier post 01/02/2012:
"The last thing that the world needs is another web comic, am I right? Well I’ve done a few different ones over the years and this is a stupid idea that I had about 15 years ago and I finally got off my ass and drew up this little…thing. This first one explains the basic premise of the comic. It ain’t gonna get any better than this. I know it isn’t all that good but I’m gonna have a hell of a time doing this.
Now for the fun part! I’m opening this up to submissions! Whether they be just written or both written & illustrated. As long as they fit the dimensions of this comic posted and follows the one panel format I will post them on this blog.* So you think that you can write a better comic strip about two dudes in a bar? Well go for it. We’ll post it here!
Now it’s starting to sound better, right? Now for the legal mumbo jumbo. It’s easy; you submit a script or artwork or both & I post on this blog giving full credit to you. I allow you to reproduce in any way that you see fit, and profit off of your work with the condition that you give proper credit to the strip’s origins. Mainly my name and this web address. Easy right? In exchange you give me the same permissions to reproduce, profit, etc as long as I give you credit for any work that you have done. I will never pay you and you will never pay me. We just give credit where credit is due and keep on keeping on. Sound good? Sweet.
The strip is scheduled to be updated on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays but I’m sure there will be times when the schedule is mucked up a bit. For example due to the holiday this first strip is going up late.
*I’m pretty lenient and tolerant of most subject matters but this is a public non restricted blog so please feel free to use coarse language & what not, but please stick to less than a “Rated R” approach. (aka no porn)"

Boozehounds 04/18/2012 Guest Writer!
Apologies to all, it turns out that preparing books and travel for C2E2 took a little bit more time from me than I thought it would and I wasn't able to update Boozehounds properly. In fact Felipe Garza had to remind me that I forgot to draw his pre-c2e2 strip. Here's the strip with a slightly modified script, since the con has come and gone. I'll be back to the usual 3 times a week schedule from now on.
Thanks for your support.

Spooooky comics as only Jon Westhoff can write them. I had an immediate dislike of the script when I read it, I don't know why I ever doubted Jon, this works perfectly. :) Not being a colorist, I had a tough time working this strip's color palette. I'm pretty pleased with the result.
You also should check out Jon & Brian Boles' new webcomic The World's Strongest Mailman which debuts today! Tell Svend I sent ya.

Here's our output to date, it's been a crazy few years. It's shocking to me that something that I did in my spare time has continued to grow. With Jon Westhoff taking charge and getting the 11 O'clock Comics Anthologies going and bringing in new people to work with in projects such as Bandthology, there's no way we're stopping anytime soon! Jon wrangles in the talent for our anthologies while I get to focus on b-one. We're a good team.
We have a TON of stuff planned, you ain't seen nothin' yet!
Plus Jon started his new webcomic here: The World's Strongest Mailman

Boozehounds 04/06/2012 Guest Writer & Artist!
Wendi and Mat are proving to be an incredible team! I love this. This is the first foray into the "Full Moonhounds". Look for more thematic stuff from all of the Boozehounds contributors.
Oh if you see what you like be sure to leave comments and tell a friend. Word of mouth is how we're doing this and we're having fun doing it.
One last thing if you're at C2E2 next week come by the King Bone Press ( Booth 692 ) and say hi!
We'll be selling books, drawing sketches and hanging out.

Boozehounds 04/04/2012
Preacher is member of the 11 O'clock Comics Forum. He was dignosed with terminal cancer and said his goodbyes to everyone earlier this week. His announcement and the bravery, acceptance and compassion to all on the boards has affected me more than I can describe.
I can't say that I even knew him, but I miss him. A lot.
Part of my sign off on the podcast is "hug someone and tell them that you love them". It's not a catchphrase, it's a heartfelt request. Don't wait until it's too late.
