11 O'Clock Comics Sketchbook Challenge 90's X-Men FINAL ENTRY

KISSY.

With all the hype for X-Men Schism with all the conflict between Cyclops & Wolverine I think that this is the only fitting resolution to the Schism storyline. Admittedly, I am not reading the title, but all the podcasters talking about the storyline and the confrontation these two men have given me the feeling that they are in love with each other and deeply confused about their feelings. This confusion manifests as rage within the comics, but not when the brush is in my hand! I hope you enjoy the image. It is a subject matter that I haven't explored in comics before.

As most of you probably already know, I do a weekly podcast with Jon Westhoff & Paul Wheels. It's called Earth 2 Podcast and we've recently branched out the show to a satellite mini-show entitled E2P Shots, No Chase. It's a smaller, shorter, bite-sized show usually focusing on one book. This week we did something different and I had the pleasure of talking to 11 O'clock Comics forumite & twitter biddy Felipe Garza. It was a fun conversation about comics. Please listen on the player below or subscribe via podbean or itunes. Thanks a million.

11 O'Clock Comics Sketchbook Challenge 90's X-Men (again)

See? I toldja that I would try to post here more often. Here's another 90's X-character from the EOC Challenge for September. I took a lot more time on this than I expected so it shouldn't really count as a warm up, since it cut into my actual inking time for an upcoming Apocalypse...Meh short.

Anyway, enough of that. Here's Cameron Hodge. 5.5"x7" Ink on Bristol

11 O'Clock Comics Sketchbook Challenge & Warm ups

Hello all, Just trying to be a bit more proactive on this blog thing. I'll be posting some warm ups, drink n drawings, and 11 O'Clock Sketchbook Challenge pieces. The EOC Sketchbook are basically a bunch of people getting to gether and tossing out ideas for what to draw for the month. Anyone can participate and while there are rules they are pretty lax. It's fun for me.

So here is my EOC Sketchbook drawing for today. The theme is 1990's X-Men so I thought I'd bring inm classic Excalibur member Rachel Summers. Rocking it old school with a No. 2 pencil and some copy paper. I hope you like.

Labor Day blog catch-up!

I know it's been a while since my last post, I must apologize for that. This post is once again my attempt to maintain this blog with some semblance of regularity. I have been quite busy expanding the scope of Earth 2 Podcast by starting a bite sized complimentary show called E2P: Shots, No Chase. Yes, it should be "chaser" but I'm hood and I like false abbreviations. Yes, I am that lazy! As you may know I also completed and published the 5th issue of my indie/mini comic b-one in July with much thanks to my friends in and off the internet for continued support. To simplify the list I'll just name the 11 o'clock Comics Podcast and their forum community.

A special thank goes to Jon Westhoff who not only is friend and collaborator, he is also the one who does the promotion for all our products, gets us in comics shops, he is in charge of distribution, and set up the web store http://kingbonepress.storenvy.com/

I am fast at work on b-one #6 with all new stories all illustrated by myself. Issue 6 will feature some new collaborators mainly Hugo Ornelas & Lawrence Rosales. Two completely different tales told in completely different ways. I can't wait for you to see them. As per usual I will include some Stonebrook Tales and a "secret" story cowriten by the aforementioned Jon Westhoff!

Alright, enough of this! Back to the drawing board...but first here's a sneak peek!

As always you can hear me as part of Earth 2 Podcast talking about comics & comics culture with my friends.
