I.C.E. - Indie Comix Expo

I did a little flyer design and illustration for I.C.E.

It's gonna be a fun time. If you're in town for C2E2 drop on by. It isn't affiliated with the big con but consider it the after party. Concert, drink specials, sketches, commix and comics. This one has it all.

Kickstarter is still active if you want to get the discounted entry price.

Dec 2008 - Dec 2014 or "I ain't special".

Sometimes you think that you'll never get started but then look back at what you've accomplished.  I can't encapsulate in a short blog post exactly how much time I wasted before starting b-one.  My work was never good enough to even TRY to make a comic. So I did what most of us do, I waited, procrastinated, delayed attempting to start the venture for years. YEARS. All because "I wasn't good enough yet". Well, no shit. There's no way to improve at anything by avoiding the task that you wish to be better at. You have to work. WORK. It's always going to be work. Nothing will be handed to you. You'll find your work cringe worthy at first. Keep working. Over time you'll learn what works, what doesn't and the one constant is the work. The process. Soon you'll find that you aren't so ashamed of your work. You may even feel a little bit of pride. Either way, looking back at the past seven years and seeing b-one become a reality is really satisfying. Am I proud? Nah, but I do have a sense of accomplishment. You can do it too. It'll be work, but you can do it. Just stop daydreaming about that great American Novel, that concept album, t-shirt line, or comic book and start working. It's that first step of a marathon, or first brick in the wall that people talk about. DO NOT WAIT TEN YEARS. I DID. Take that first step. Get some work done. We can't wait to see what you come up with.
Oh, yeah. Those of you that have been holding out for b-one #8 print edition, the wait is almost over. Sending them over to distro this week.
Sincerely,
Bobgar "Shut up and get to work" Ornelas

Commissions and Original Artwork

Marvel's Agent Carter. Likenesses are always a challenge. It's a difficult path to retain your illustration style and distill a person's essence in a few brush strokes. Always a challenge, but a fun and welcome challenge.

5.5"x7" ink/inkwash on bristol.

This piece and all sorts of other art, prints and miscellanea are available for purchase on my shop.
