2015 wrap up and plans for 2016

I secretly gave myself a goal of 100 completed pages of art for 2015. This was to be cover art, illustrated story pages and original artwork advertisements. This goal did not include con sketches, commissions, and doodles. I knew it was a giant goal considering I have a full time job and other responsibilities, so I wan't surprised that I came up short. A list of my completed art pages are as follows:

3 Ads featuring new artwork (in color)
3 Comic Book Covers (in color)
45 Comic Book pages (penciled, inked)
8 Comic Book Pages (penciled only)

59 total.

I have the same goal of 100 pages/covers and ads for 2016. I'm hoping to get much closer this year although I will have added distractions. I have resumed producing royalty free stock vector illustrations for iStock, opened a store at Society6, and started doing a little almost daily drawing project. More on the last two on future posts. In order to facilitate drawing more I have finally laid to rest the Earth 2 Program of which I was the host but the Earth 2 Network thrives without me. Check out the shows there, it's a lot of talented cats doing what they love.

Here's some art as well, some I've posted here, some I haven't.

Enjoy.

Thanks for reading, as always I appreciate any and all support.

Commissions and Original Artwork

A fun little piece that I did after completing b-one #9. It was a rare issue that had no appearance of "The Grasshopper" so of course I had a hankerin' to draw him/her/it.

Commissions and Original Artwork

The Fly 1958 style.
8"x14"
Ink on Bristol.

I've always loved the 1986 The Fly, and had recently watched the 1958 version. Something always drew me to these movies, more than just the horror aspects. As an adult I realize that it's the completely doomed love story of both. I seem to gravitate to "fucked up love stories" without realizing it. Something in the subconscious I suppose. I wanted this one to be looking at his wedding ring, contemplating the end of his marriage. In the movie of course the left hand is transformed and his right just has a regular ring, but I'm exercising what they call artistic license here. He's wearing his wedding ring on the right hand, because the left is no longer a viable option. Hey looka me, I'm romantic!

Commissions and Original Artwork Ordering Information 2015

Commissions

Would you like an original piece of art by yours truly? We’ll all you have to do is commission it. It’s easy, just let me know what you want and I’ll draw it, with a few rare exceptions. All artwork is done with ink/inkwash on bristol board. Below are the basics, if you need something different I’m sure that we can come to an agreement.

11”x 17” Single figure inked. $60.00 Shipping Included*

11”x 17” Multiple figures/Team inked. $75.00 Shipping Included*

9”x 12” Single figure inked. $35.00 Shipping Included*

9”x 12” Multiple figures/Team inked. $45.00 Shipping Included*

5.5”x 7” Single figure/head shot. Inked. $20.00 Shipping Included*

2.5" x 3.5" Sketch Cards. Inked. $3.00 Shipping Included*

Oh, and please be specific about the iteration of the character you want commissions. For example if you want an illustration of “Sandman” let me know which Sandman (Spider-man’s Flint Marko, Morpheus, Logan 3, Golden Age DC, Punch-Out character, Mystery Theatre, etc. etc) The same thing goes if you want a specific costume that a character wears.

Original Artwork

If you’ve seen a piece of mine that you want to inquire about, please do, there’s a good chance that I still retain the original artwork. Just ask!

Please email BuyOrnelasArt at gmail.com for availability, this offer is only available for Bobgar Ornelas illustrated comics. If you are inquiring about specific King Bone Press publications drawn by a different artist please email me and I will get you in contact with the artist.

I.C.E. - Indie Comix Expo

I did a little flyer design and illustration for I.C.E.

It's gonna be a fun time. If you're in town for C2E2 drop on by. It isn't affiliated with the big con but consider it the after party. Concert, drink specials, sketches, commix and comics. This one has it all.

Kickstarter is still active if you want to get the discounted entry price.

Commissions and Original Artwork

There was a little hiccup in the delivery of the Thor for the charity art auction and was not included there. Unfortunatly it's come back to me. I've decided to add it to my storenvy shop.

slurmo.storenvy.com/

I know that I haven't posted anything in quite a while. I've just completed all the interiors to b-one #8 ! It won't be long until the issue is available for purchase! Once that is complete I'll have more time to post illustrations and comics here.

Thanks for the support,

Commissions and Original Artwork

Seems like it has been a while since I posted. Lots of behind the scenes work on I.C.E. (Indie Comix Expo) as announced by KBP this week. I'm also working on cover and design work for a new, not yet unannounced series, plus the usual progress on the next issue of b-one. So what am I doing posting here, instead of working there? Well Jon Westhoff is involved with a nonprofit charity auction and I did this piece for them. A fun distraction from the grind. Hope ya'll dig it.
